Spanish Springs Pet Resort is hiring a Shift Lead for our sister facility, Biggest Little Paws, a dog boarding and daycare at 860 E Greg St in Sparks. This is a hands-on leadership job. On your days, you run the shift. If you've run a shift before and want to do it around dogs, we'd like to meet you.

Schedule:

Full-time, 3 days a week: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 7am to 7pm. All three days are required.
12-hour shifts (11 paid hours) with a 1-hour lunch (12 to 1) and two paid 15-minute breaks.
Dogs are here every day of the year, so holidays are working days.

Pay and benefits:

$20–$23 an hour depending on experience, plus tips.
Free daycare for your own dog if they pass our evaluation and space allows.
After the 90-day working interview: raises, PTO and a 401k.
A path to Kennel Manager as we grow.

What you'll do:

Run the shift: dogs, cleaning, feeding, play groups, the front desk and clients.
Make the calls on the floor and keep the day on schedule.
Make sure the daily checklist and closing checks get done right, every time.
Check in and check out dogs, answer the phone and handle client questions.
Clean, feed and give medications, hands-on all day.
Help run our enrichment days.
Help train new team members as we grow.

What we're looking for:

You've run a shift before, in any industry: restaurant, retail, warehouse, kennel or clinic.
Reliable and on time, every shift.
Stays calm and makes decisions when things get busy.
Comfortable with upset customers.
Calm and confident with big, pushy or nervous dogs.
Comfortable with our handling style: reward and praise first, calm fair corrections when needed.
Looking for a long-term job.

The physical side:

A very physical job: on your feet and walking all day.
Lift and carry 50 lbs (food bags, trash, dogs into the tub).
Indoors and out, in heat, cold and wet weather.
Loud and busy.

Experience:

Dog experience is a plus, not required. We'll train you on the dog side.
