Hiring for our sister facility, Biggest Little Paws, in Sparks.
Spanish Springs Pet Resort is hiring a Kennel Technician for our sister facility, Biggest Little Paws, a dog boarding and daycare at 860 E Greg St in Sparks. If you like hard work, want to be around dogs all day and take pride in a clean facility, we'd like to meet you.
Schedule:
- Full-time, 3 days a week: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 7am to 7pm. All three days are required.
- 12-hour shifts (11 paid hours) with a 1-hour lunch (12 to 1) and two paid 15-minute breaks.
- Dogs are here every day of the year, so holidays are working days.
Pay and benefits:
- $18 an hour plus tips.
- Free daycare for your own dog if they pass our evaluation and space allows.
- After the 90-day working interview: raises, PTO and a 401k.
What you'll do:
- Clean and sanitize kennels, play yards, bowls and the whole facility, every day.
- Feed dogs and give medications, following each dog's instructions.
- Supervise play groups and keep them safe and structured.
- Rotate dogs in and out of kennels and yards.
- Follow the daily checklist start to finish.
- Be friendly and professional with clients and teammates.
What we're looking for:
- Reliable and on time, every shift.
- Takes direction well and follows protocols.
- Calm with big, pushy or nervous dogs.
- Looking for a long-term job.
The physical side:
- A very physical job: on your feet and walking all day.
- Lift and carry 50 lbs (food bags, trash, dogs into the tub).
- Indoors and out, in heat, cold and wet weather.
- Loud and busy.
Experience:
- No dog experience required. We'll train you on everything our way.
- Any hands-on job counts: kitchen, warehouse, janitorial, retail, animals.
